Three months after he was born, we are just now finding some spare time to introduce our newest addition. All, meet Ramey Dude Davis.

Our handsome lad was born on March 17, 2020 at 8:08am. For those of you that don’t know, the name Ramey comes from a beautiful area about an hour north of Hailey known as Ramey Creek. It is here that we took Arco on his first overnight backpacking trip. We hiked approximately three miles to the top of a picturesque knob. We found elk milling around in lush meadows below us, snow piles large and cold enough to stash our barley pops, perfectly shaped granite boulders to build our fire ring with, and an assortment of old-growth trees to protect us from nature’s elements. It was stunning, beautiful, and special. We both felt an indescribable connection to the area – it was pure magic.

Dude comes from my Grandpa (maternal). His name was Julius, but everyone – family, friends, strangers and yes, even my Grandma – called him Dude. I remember him being a jolly man with large hands. He worked hard, raised eight children and would give anyone the shirt off of his back.

So here we are. Our 12-week old Ramey can out-fart us all. He smiles all. of. the. time. and recently, he belted his first giggles. He’s such a happy babe – constantly cooing, snorting, moaning, groaning and making noises, and he’s calm – always calm. The jury is still out on a nickname. Ethan endearingly calls him ‘Moss Piglet’, ‘Rame Dawg’ or more recently, Biggie. I refer to him as ‘Little Dude’ or ‘Ramey Dude’. Arco calls him ‘Ramey’ and adores this little lad to bits. He shares everything with his little brother – blankets, kisses, snuggles and just like any big brother, he occasionally pesters. Pokes and pesters aside, these two are going to be great friends.
