Each spring, we crave to get out of town, sit fireside, play in the dirt, hike and run in the mountains, and camp. This spring was no different.

Our first camping trip of the year took us to Silver Creek, a world famous fly fishing destination.
The view from our little camp trailer.

We were itching to get away, but, like always, weather was an obstacle – too cold at night for two little lads and certainly too cold for this Mama.

To help get us in the mountains earlier in the year, we agreed to lightly research and look for ‘new-to-us’ campers. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the prices on outdoor gear, including camp trailers, has surged.

We surrendered the idea of not having a camper this year. Once we openly admitted that, guess what happened? A used camper in our very own town popped up for sale, and for just the right price – $975!

All, meet Destiny.

Destiny + a handsome stash to navigate her!

She is 30 years old and has racing stripes fit for any race car driver. She’s in great shape with some minor bumps and bruises on her exterior.

Left bed + sink, cupboards and some storage.
I swapped all of the original knobs for these beauties.
Stove, bed and sink. Storage can be found underneath the stove and dinette area.

She didn’t come with a heater, but we outfitted her with one. We replaced her tires, the wheel bearings, and sink parts. Cushy bedding and pillows, geometric-patterned rugs and a pop of yellow keep us cozy and warm. She could use new cushion covers and a fresh coat of paint on the floor, or new flooring, but otherwise, she has been a charming addition to our family of five.

He’s a natural.
Ramey found a cozy place to play.
Soaking in that spring sunshine!

The lads love her, Chossy loves having a ‘sofa’ to sleep on, and E and I, we’re smitten too.

These two are tickled to have Destiny join the family.
Our favorite little campers.
