It’s been a while since our last post but not due to a lack of stuff to share. Quite the opposite, we’ve been so busy that finding a time to sit down without falling asleep is becoming challenging! Arco started sampling solid foods. So far it seems he likes applesauce the best and wasn’t a fan of barley… but he does like sucking on the end of a beer bottle! He’s now weighing in at about 17 lbs and giving both grandmas a workout when they come to watch him. Both Grandma Suz and Nana Kat have come up huge in the child care division allowing Robyn and I to continue working 32 and 40 hours a week respectively. This setup will last through May, and then he’s off to Daycare 4 days a week with Robyn picking up Wednesdays.

Headed out on the town.

Reading books with Mama

We went on our first camping trip of the year, always a big occasion in our house but made even more notable for a couple of firsts. The biggest of course being Arco’s first camp, and the second using our truck Myrtle. We spent two days at Massacre Rocks with our friend Steve. He and his wife Bre moved up to Hailey from Salt Lake. We knew Steve from Moscow and are stoked to have them in the valley!

Camping outside of Arco. All the roads were washed out so we just set up a tent where we got stuck. Not a bad view!

Who needs fancy portable cribs when you’ve got a box?

My two favorite little humans!

Last weekend we were at it again, this time camping outside of Arco (the town). Arco (the little man) got his first taste of the wild desert scenery, sagebrush and limestone that inspired his name! Of course he cried most of the time… but he did seem to like campfires. He’ll toughen up in no time flat, and seems to be more comfortable at camp each time we set up the tent. Cold nights are still the crux, as it makes it a bit hard for Robyn to feed when they’re both lined in puffy jackets. Spring is about to pop here in Hailey, tulips are on the verge of blossoming and a few daffodils are brightening up the yard. I’d expect trees full of leaves here in the next week! I head back to ArborCare for my third season on May 7th, until then it’s daddy daycare this week capped off by a visit from Auntie Cora!
