Better late than never! These photos seem almost outdated at this point but then I remembered most of them were taken only a few short months ago. So much has happened since we moved in to our first home! Today, I am home sick with the flu and rather than being a complete waste of a day, I decided to get on it and post a few photos from around the house.

Along with a new house came new jobs.. again! I’ve taken a position as a “climber” at ArborCare so now I can finally say I am getting paid to climb. Much of what I do is trimming and removal of aspen and spruce within the valley. Many of the removals that we do are in close proximity to homes which requires some interesting rope work and climbing. Robyn is well into a position with the City of Hailey in the planning and zoning department. She helps oversee a lot of the inner workings of businesses and home renovations. It’s been fun to hear about her interactions with entrepreneurs and business owners in the valley not to mention her ever-growing understanding of all things to do with home ownership from permits and codes to remodels.

A tricky removal in Hailey. The Nick is on had to be controlled with ropes so it wouldn't crush a fence and wood pile below.

Most of the first few weeks were spent getting settled into our new digs followed by a couple of months back outside on the rock. We’ve heard from many folks that it’s easy to get burned out on house projects and most people wished they had spent more time outside exploring. So far, I think we’ve been able to strike a good balance between work and play. Each season offers something unique and it’d be a shame to miss out. So “no rush” – after all, it looks like we’ll be here a while.
