Hey-o! Been a while since our last garden update but DAMN! we are overloaded with veggies. Our garden keeps on cranking out bags of fresh produce and we have changed the crops over in a couple places as well. Our spinach ran its course so we yanked it up and planted beans and squash. We also planted four cucumber bushes that have been going OFF and pumping out cukes every week.

We have been constantly trimming back our basil and chard but every time we head back it’s bursting at the seams. Additionally we have had the chance to take a peek at out carrots and we were blown away! They are super big and it’s tough not to just yank them all out at once. On top of all that our onions, chives and tomatoes are looking healthy as well. At this point we visit the garden once a week and pull out a full shopping bag of basil and chard as well as a half sack of tomatoes and cucumbers.

An average weekly haul.

Chris was the lucky winner to pull this bad boy. I thought he was being a sissy, but it turns out the carrot was just huge.

All in all we are super stoked and blown away by the success of our little plot. We’ve learned a lot about what and how much to plant as well as timing and spacings. It’s certainly given us confidence as we move forward in our gardening adventures!
